Ms. Walker's Grade Five Class

Hi everyone! Today we began our studies in the Wetlands Unit for Science! We learned about the importance of adaptations for each living being's survival in their own environment, and how different environments might call for a different set of adaptations. We even did a fun experiment in class where we were tasked with filling out a questionnaire WITHOUT the use of some of our very important human adaptations. Some of us could not use our eyes, or our thumbs, or our arms, or even out mouths! We quickly discovered how important adaptations can be for us to live happily and successfully. Hi everyone, Today we had a challenge in class to try and come up with strategies to measure the volume of a very irregularly shaped item- and boy was it hard! Here is a picture of the item you had to work with: We came up with some ideas- and a lot of frustration with this perplexing problem!!!
