Here are some links to on-line tutorials that will help you master place value, and rounding!

PARENTS- as we move into our year, the importance of students having memorized their multiplication tables is crucial to their success. I HIGHLY encourage practicing these facts as a family in order to get out kiddos feeling confident and ready to conquer Grade Five Math!

At Parent-Teacher Conferences, I will have some booklets available that include helpful strategies and tricks to support students with their multiplication facts.

What's new in Room 2

Hi everyone, Today we had a challenge in class to try and come up with strategies to measure the volume of a very irregularly shaped item- and boy was it hard! Here is a picture of the item you had to work with: We came up with some ideas- and a lot of frustration with this perplexing problem!!! The class then watched the attached video on Archimedes Principle, and learned about his discovery. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijj58xD5fDI We have spent a lot of time in our Geometry unit, and will be getting ready for a test that will be scheduled for the end of next week (Date TBA). Here are the following criteria we will be responsible for knowing on this test: 1.
