Hi everyone, Today we had a challenge in class to try and come up with strategies to measure the volume of a very irregularly shaped item- and boy was it hard! Here is a picture of the item you had to work with: We came up with some ideas- and a lot of frustration with this perplexing problem!!! The class then watched the attached video on Archimedes Principle, and learned about his discovery. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijj58xD5fDI We have spent a lot of time in our Geometry unit, and will be getting ready for a test that will be scheduled for the end of next week (Date TBA). Here are the following criteria we will be responsible for knowing on this test: 1. Calculating Area, Volume, and Perimeter (Perimeter of irregularly shaped items included, Area of rectangular shapes, or irregular shapes that are two or more rectangles combined, and Volume of a cube or rectangular prism). 2.
