HI Everyone! Lots of updates coming up! 1. Historical Figure Day is February 12th! Students have each been assigned a historical figure, and will come in character and provide a speech about their contributions to Canadian history. Attached are the guidelines for this project. We will spend the day doing activities commonly experienced in The Great Lakes Saint Lawrence Lowlands region.... but I won't ruin the surprise and tell you about ALL our fun plans just yet. If you'd like a hint, try researching a certain famous winter festival that takes place every year in Quebec. Perhaps your taste buds might find themselves in sticky situation.... 2. Fraction Cakes are well on their way! Most students have already handed in their multiplied recipes with signatures, but if these have not all come back to Ms. Walker, please finish them soon.... unless you don't like chocolate, icing, or fun times :) Cake day will be February 21st. Hi all! What a great first week back to school- and it's only Wednesday! 2019 is OUR year! Just a few notes for you and your parents as we approach the weekend: 1. "Where are my tests and projects?", you may be asking yourselves. The answer, is neatly organized in piles covering Ms. Walker's entire dining room table! As report cards are fast approaching, much of your assessment materials will be living at home with me for the short term in order to personalize report comments, and tally up all of our cumulative grades. We have been doing a lot of Social Studies this week as we have begun our new unit on The Great Lakes St-Lawrence Lowlands Region.
